What are your favorite patterns using fat quarters. I'm wanting to do a throw for my cabin and can't decide.

bricks, log cabins, 9-patch, snowballs.. your options are almost endless, since the pieces are bigger..

If you have a lot of fat quarters, I like Turning Twenty.

The problem I have with "Fat Quarter Quilt Books," is they use fat quarters, and a load of other pieces of material, too. I think the easiest thing is do you 5" square charm packs and get those "nickel" books, or, sew a nine block together of charm packs, with the same fabric in the middle of each block, then you cut them horizontally and vertically - sew them back together so the center patch is "kissing" the center patch of the one next to it. Looks like you took a long time piecing it, its beautiful, simple, and great to use with a charm patch collection!

That sounds like a disappearing 9 patch.

I love the turning twenty myself!

I used fat quarters and made a disappearing 9 patch top, was so much fun!

Just received a fat quarter sampler from Connecting Threads planning on a Turning Twenty with it.
