Favorite iron?
 

What's your favorite iron to use for quilting projects? Looking for both regular size and also a small easy to handle iron.

At home: sunbeam steam master
small carry along: black and decker $13 at Walmart

Anyone with an Oliso Pro?

I like the Black and Decker Digital Advantage but we have recently had a bunch of discussions on irons, so I'll bet if you put that into the Search you will get lots more info.

I use an older Black & Decker travel iron. It has worked great for everything. When it starts getting cruddy, I clean it. If I need steam, I use my regular iron in the house. The travel iron has an extra long cord, which is great for my 6 ft ironing board!

I have a Reliable Digital Velocity iron that steams like nobody's business, it is very heavy and great for pressing yardage. I also have a Dritz Mini Press that I love, love, love, it lives next to my sewing machine for pressing seams.

I have an early 1960s GE. It's a dry iron. I bought it new in the box from an ebay seller. My other iron is a Euro Steam Evolution. I don't use it a lot but when I really need a steam iron it's fabulous. It was also expensive and it's very heavy. The small guild I belong to has a Black and Decker Digital Advantage that every body likes quite a bit.

Sunbeam Hot to Trot..... $13 Target. Love it so much, I bought a second one for the RV.

I have the Reliable and have had to send it in twice - to Canada which is a pain and $. They didnt charge for service since it was under warranty the first time then honored the warranty when it went out again 3 weeks later.

I have two Black and Decker , one is a small travel size .. light wieght produces a good amount of steam. I also have the bigger Black and Decker .. seems to get hotter then the small one, and produces LOTS of steam. I would buy either of them again. Both purchased at Walmart.
I gave up on spending big $$ on top of the line Rowenta's , both died as painful death,,, heating up uncontrolably to a beyond white hot state, melting the partial poly thread of what I was working on .. literally just disinegrated the thread like it never happened... thats how I knew the irons were ... cremating right in front of me.
