One of my foot petal has wiring that has frayed at the 3 prong plug part..it is the old type of wire...I can even see some silver wiring at the very end...I guess I shouldn't be using it like this???

Is this a hard thing for me to try to replace by myself...and/or does anyone know of a tute that I can check out as to how to change the wire..I would like to try to do it myself, if possible...with hubby's help???
Any advice would be appreciatied...

I'd check with Billy [here on the QB] or see if a local store sells FW parts and get a new plug.

Better be safe than sorry.

I see that you are in the Toronto area so someone must repair machines there. I had my Janome lady (Pat's Sewing Centre) in Alliston Ontario rewire mine with a new cord set. She did a clean, service and re-wire for $70 and did it in less than a week. Don't ever try to use vintage machines with broken, frayed, cracked or rubbery wires as they can give you an awful shock.

Thanks for the info..I won't be using the foot petal since I noticed the exposed wire...
