I prefer Greased Lightning for grease stains, even if I have washed and dried an item. I did not like the smell of Lestoil and had better luck with Greased Lightning. Greased Lightning, hydrogen peroxide and liquid Oxy-Clean are my go to stain removers.

Did you dilute the peroxide? I have tried using it and accidently used it full strength and it ate away the fabric.

Just a thought, and maybe not even a good one but here goes.......The area of the ship that faded the worse, maybe you could go over it with a permanent fabric marker?

When I was a kid and my brother got his pants either grassy or greasy with fixing bikes, mom would take good ole crisco and smear it on the stains before washing. Came out every time. Never heard of using hydrogen peroxide but if it works, then it works.

Hydrogen Peroxide is an old name for Oxy-clean.You can use it in your laundry and in your dishwasher.

I agree with Prism99, I use retroclean on all my antique quilts and lace. Works fantastic!

Thanks for the tip. I didn't know that peroxide would remove grease.

Where do we find the product Lestoil? |
Peroxide would have been my absolutely last choice for a cleaner. It will bleach the color out of almost everything.
