finding certain color fabric help

Hi everyone! I need help finding fabric that is a pinkish orangish kinda color, a coral, mellon kinda color with some sorta swirls. The swirls can be a lighter shade or even a white. My quilt has a few roses different colors with a green background and I'm trying to match one of the rose colors to give it some color. I have a bright pink with swirls but have found that my niece, whom I'm making it for doesn't really like pink. I have looked all over the internet and just can't find what I have in mind. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated!
Thank you!

Did you try equilter.com?

lenette 03-10-2012 06:14 AM

When I was on equilter lately, I saw a lot of colors that were coral & melon

Thanks so much Lenette! They have so much more to look at in these colors, I'm sure I'll find just what I have in mind!

When I am searching for a specific fabric, I go here first:

the fabric your looking for I have i think. I only have scrap left but it was a line a few years ago that I bought by Nancy Halvorsten called charms. look at the line and see if it's what you have in mind....maybe it will get you on the right track

to get a good match, I'd think you'd need to search in person.

GrannieAnnie, I agree, I have checked out Joanns and Hancock fabrics. I went to two different Walmarts and just can't find what I have in mind. I've found fabrics with a swirl design but fabric color itself is not right. I would much rather see it in person. I'm not a fan of buying fabric on line. I like to see it and feel. I'm just getting frustrated.

If you find the one online that I suggested and you think it might work I can send you a sample...I understand frustration i'm looking for a purple right now to match fabric that I can't find and I'm in the same boat.

i just bought a yard of fabric that that was orangey and swirly it may be too orange but i bought it at old country store fabrics .com and it was from the enchanted garden collection by riley bailey you might check that out its a beautiful color and is going in a pink and orange baby quilt im starting soon. im using 6 fabrics from that collection. im really excited about it as i usually dont step that far out on a limb with fabric im more traditional but the mother is young and more of a modern type woman and i wanted it to be more to her taste no clue what im backing it with its too soon to tell ill probably have to use something in the collecton but no clue what yet its too soon to think of that yet
as i always wait til the quilt is done before i buy the backing fabric since im never sure how big ill make it til its done.
