When I first started quilting, I wanted to try every pattern I saw. Now, it's the color combination that captures my attention. I find it difficult to find a pattern that inspires me....seems like everything is a variation of something that I've already tried. Who else feels this way?

Lately I find myself drawn to simple geometric patterns that allow the fabrics to shine...like stacked coins, or even just squares with borders between. I also like the fresh modern quilts (you can google that term) with strips.

My tastes fluctuate from the old, the new, and the combinations.
I hope you find something that inspires you. I don't like the feeling either, been there :)

People's tastes change, sometimes doing a total reversal. I adore Victorian houses and clothing, yet finding myself building in storage and just looked around. My house is now almost back to the purity of it's age, which is late 1930s/early 40s. And while I love Victorian excess, I find it is more soothing to have very little stuff on display, thus the storage out of sight in window seats, closets, drawers in the hallway, etc.

And from soft flowered quilts to sharply contrasting colors, but best of all I love those "floating" patterns with black outlines on part of each block. Love them now. What I'll love next year is up for grabs!!!

I do, most of the time. There are just so many ways you can sew pieces of fabric together but the colors.... the combination options are endless. I tend to save pictures of quilts more for the colors than the patterns, so I will be inspired to try new colors. Other than that, I get in a color rut!

My tastes have changed, sometimes it is slight and other times in leaps. I just go with the flow :D:D:D
