So i have seen some quilts posted here i noticed some arent yarn tied or a design sewed all over top if you dont do that will quilt be ok after being washed ect

Most likely they are quilted with SID - stitch in ditch. If its not quilted somehow, you would have a mess once its washed and dryed.

some times the people are just showing their finished quilt tops and are still going to finish them with quilting, they are just excited to have the top done and show it to us.

Stitch in the ditch is quilting very close to or in the seam line of your pieced blocks. You can hardly see it when you are finished.

If you use a blanket for the batting, the blanket probably won't lump up or bunch without quilting.

Quilts with fleece backing would be another example of quilting not being necessary :D:D:D
