I hope my story can motivate brand new quilters to keep trying!
This is where my quilting story began

and this is the final result.

I worked on it for the last 5 or 6 years on and off, but more intensively in the last year. It started because of orphan blocks, and it kept growing on me. I had no idea where I was going so I did not know how much fabric I needed to buy of course. I wanted to use what I had on hands, bits and pieces so it has a scrappy look also...
To keep learning, I thought that a one color backing was a lost for my learning experience, therefore I made it a reversible quilt, why not, for a first.... everything goes... loll
Came the time of making the binding, I decided to practice what I had learned on a sample project six years ago and I made a two-color binding
I started hand quilting it 6 months ago. I used washable crayola fine point markers as I read here on the board and to my great satisfaction, it all washed away .... I had my doubt of course because this quilt is a “first” in many aspects for me!
I am very proud of my achievement and I must admit that I am kind of tired of seeing it. I don’t know if my husband is being nice or sincere or proud of me or all of the above,.... but he could not wait to use it on our bed, where it stands right now. What is nice about this quilt is that we use it alternatively on one side than on the other side, every other day.... loll
Just in case you ask....!
Yes........ I have another one (smaller though) all pieced, reversible and I will be sandwiching it soon.... and I’ll post pics. It probably won’t take 6 years but a few months for sure as I want to enjoy summer for now and do outdoors activities.

It is fantastic! You should be very proud of yourself! You managed a lot of not so beginner techniques in this quilt and pulled it off perfectly! Congratulations!

thank you very much! such a learning process, easier at the end than at the beginning... I guess I have the patience to learn once I am motivated!
