This is a first ... a quilted bug

I just quilted a bug.

I don't mean that I made a design of a bug with needle and thread.

I mean I quilted OVER a REAL bug!!!

Here I am quilting away ... a bug lands on my quilt just in front of the needle and ZIP ... he's stitched in the ditch. At least it was a small bug, so not a lot of "bug juice".

Stupid bug.

Neesie 09-15-2012 07:04 PM

!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

ohgirlohboyohno 09-15-2012 07:05 PM

"he's stitched in the ditch"....love it!

Lisa_wanna_b_quilter 09-15-2012 07:09 PM

Oh ick! Thank goodness he wasn't too juicy.

icon17 09-15-2012 07:09 PM

YuK!!KY ;)

moonwork42029 09-15-2012 07:19 PM

That was good for a giggle...

DACO48 09-15-2012 07:29 PM

What was the last thing that went through his mind? Daaa, that would have been a needle. Sorry, that was bad!!! Sometimes I just can't help myself.

Tartan 09-15-2012 07:39 PM

Now that is one in a million and I bet it will never happen again. Glad he wasn't too messy.

sylviak 09-15-2012 07:44 PM

I used to have a whole collection of "pinned" bugs, but I've never put a needle through one! And definitely not on my quilt! LOL!

dunster 09-15-2012 08:43 PM

I'm laughing myself silly. Stupid bug. LOL

woody 09-15-2012 09:11 PM

LOL too funny!!!!!!
My bird is always around me when I'm sewing, one day I'm sure I will sew her tail feathers, but a bug landing just in the right spot at the right time, priceless LOL

diamondee 09-15-2012 09:24 PM

:D Must have been the quilt police out to bug ya :D

LOL. I say a similar thing about the bugs that splat on my windshield!

molly oldham 09-16-2012 03:36 AM

Funny:D I'm always afraid I will stitch my cat's tail! He loves to be right in the way and refuses to move.

lovingmama 09-16-2012 03:48 AM

Ugh! That would bug me.

Farm Quilter 09-16-2012 04:17 AM

Made me laugh!!! I quilted a sage bug between the backing (pale yellow) and batting on a quilt - didn't find out until I was checking the back before I took the quilt off my frame!!! Of course, he was in the middle of a queen sized quilt and there was no way I was going to take out that much quilting to fish him out! Smacked him with a hammer a few times and prayed he would become dust after a few months and washings!

Oh my!! I know I would have done exactly the same thing, and I know some bad words would have accompanied the hammer strokes!!

sewmom 09-16-2012 05:56 AM

Bet he won't do that again! LOL

dd 09-16-2012 06:27 AM

That's too funny! When I taught 4H, I had one girl who always sewed a dead flea in everything she made. Strange.

lynnie 09-16-2012 07:24 AM

Super ickkkkkkkkkk

That would have been too disturbing for me. What did her parents think about her doing this and my goodness why?

NanaCsews2 09-16-2012 07:43 AM

too funny!! Reminds me of the spider that crawled over a quilt while I was sewing. Grabbed my little bug sucker machine and bye bye spider. Everyone has one of these, right?

I hate those suicidal bugs. One drowned itself in my ice tea last week.

Toni C 09-16-2012 07:56 AM

Hahaha who would have ever thought that could happen?

AlienQuilter 09-16-2012 08:46 AM

Just tell everyone it's a computerized quilt and you forgot to debug it first.

Chasing Hawk 09-16-2012 08:59 AM

I got a good chuckle out of this thread. Thanks!!

From now on I am going to check all my quilts before, during and after they get off the LA.

cad_queen_2000 09-16-2012 06:15 PM

awww, ain't that sweet? he thought your quilt was to die for.

FranW 09-16-2012 06:26 PM

Mom didn't care. Have to pick your battle. It was dead after all. Just wondering how many fleas they had in their house.

grammy1231 09-17-2012 03:32 AM

SueDor 09-17-2012 03:36 AM

LisaGibbs 09-17-2012 04:33 AM

What are the chances you could do that again??

champagnebubbles 09-17-2012 04:49 AM

This is a Bugs life. LOL

Carol Ann 09-17-2012 05:03 AM

Hope this won't start a new trend in quilting!! Yikes!!!

BETTY62 09-17-2012 05:05 AM

Now that's wild. Hope it didn't stain your quilt.
