CAn anyone tell me the name of the fabric you make those cute flag that you hang outside of you house. I would like to make a few of them for my front porch.

Yes, it is called Rip Stop, and it is a type of Nylon. I have been thinking about getting some of this and making flags, too. I looked on eBay a couple weeks ago, but I really didn't find much.

LOL. I am still making them! It's a fundraiser for my son's baseball team. I found a few places that sell rip stop nylon--Harts Fabric has some.

The best source I found no longer is carrying it (on-line) that is.
You might try Hancock Fabrics. They had some on sale but not the colors I needed. It was around $6/yard. It comes in 54, not our usual 32 like cotton, so keep that in mind if you order. I made 16 flags from 2 yards (I doubled the fabric as my background is white and a single layer looked too light.

I bought wooly nylon to sew the actual flag and found 100% matching nylon for my appliques. It took me a heck of a long time to get the tension right to sew the applique. The flag part was a breeze..

I did post a pix. I tried to cut and paste the link but it didn't work. We have had major computer troubles and I am not the most computer literate. Anyway, it is under pictures, page 4 (today).

Hancock's does sell this fabric. I made my son a bag with draw strings to carry his books and school stuff in from it. It will ravel so you have to fix your seams . I doubled it so it would be extra strong and made it bigger than the one you can buy in the stores. I then Frenched the seams. I am going to make a flag come football season so I can proclaim a mighty panther lives here. It's real easy to work with but use a big table to work on because it will slide right off the table. Have fun.
