Flannel on back

I am making a quilt that is cotton on the front and flannel on the back. My question is how do i sew the binding on, do i sew on the front and hand sew on the back or sew on the back and machine sew on the front. I usually sew all mine to the back by hand and this is the first one i am using flannel on the back and am unsure which way to do the binding. Any help will be appreciated.

I think you can do either. I've only put flannel on the back of one quilt, and I machine sewed to the front, hand sewed to the back, just as I do with all my quilts.

You can do it however you like. I do most of my binding by sewing it on the front and hand sewing it to the back. Either was it will look great.

I'm doing just that right now, cotton on the front and flannel on the back. I sewed the binding to the front and am hand-sewing to the back. Works fine.

Same here. Machine sewn to the front; hand stitched the back. No problems that I'm aware of.

Same here also. Doing some baby quilts and just purchased fabric last night to make bindings.

Do it the way you always do. Almost all of my quilts are flannel backed and I do it the same way, machine sewn onn front, hand sewn on back
