It is 100% cotton, it shrinks a lot!!!! It is very soft and warm, it has a very slightly fuzzy look and feel. You can find it in plaids, prints and solids like cotton quilting fabric. Some use it as a batting if they live in warmer areas or want a thinner batting for other reasons, too.

Flannel shirts, pajamas, bedsheets, are very typical items made out of flannel. To answer you question, tshirts are made out of a different type of cotton that is much stretchier.

As the others said, it is 100% cotton with a soft, brushed feel to it. It comes in many, many patterns. Plaids are common for shirts and sleeping pants for adults. There are many cute prints for babies and children.

In parts the USA, flannel shirts are common in the winter as are flannel sheets on beds.
