I'm using the HQ open toe foot, feed dogs are lowered, needle position down, all settings are as the machine indicates. I pull the bobbin thread to the top, pressure foot lowered and I hit start. The fabric will not move!!! That sounds strange for me to even type, but it's true. I've watched FMQ videos where you barely touch the fabric and it glides away. On the machine at the dealer, I had no problem (which sold me on the machine BTW). Here at home on my new machine, I literally have to grab an edge of my fabric between my thumb and forefinger to get the fabric to move and if I stop forcefully pulling, the fabric won't move. Am I too much of a novice sewer to have this machine???? I probably won't be able to visit my dealer until next weekend, as he is about 20 miles from my work. Too far for a lunch hour visit :( If anyone else has experienced this strange phenomena and has a quick fix or tip, I'd love to hear it! Thanks!

Do you have a gap between the foot and your quilt? I am wondering if the foot is on correctly? :D:D:D

Yes, there is a gap. I think the foot is on correctly! lol

I meant open toe darning foot (this machine has 3 options for the darning foot).... so I was using the right one; it just needed the height adjusted. Thanks for your help though!!!
