For those who have a Bernina---which foot do you use for applique? For doing a blanket stitch or a satin stitch, which foot works best for you?
Thanks for the information! :-) |
I don't have a Bernina, but my singer has a satin stitch foot...looks like the regular foot except on the bottom there is a groove about 1/4" wide that allows the heavier satin stitch to pass under without slowing or stopping the sewing.

I use the open foot, my machine is the 165 and it tells me which foot is recommended, mine is a number 20 on the foot, I actually like this foot for most of my stitching cause I can see better, hope this helps.

#20. It allows you to see clearly. Good luck!

For satin stitching, a foot that has a wide groove in the bottom of the foot. This is the most important feature to look for when choosing a foot.
It can be the zig zag foot that comes with your machine, an open toe foot, or another out of your collection. Try out a few and see which one works best for you I like an open toe foot for applique work, I can easily see where my stitches are forming :D:D:D |
I guess I've been using #6. Better check to see if I have #20 and what the difference is.
