does anyone know of or has anyone made a pattern for a football helmet? I want to make my husband a quilt in the theme of his favorite NFL team, It will be for a fall carepackage while he is deployed since he will miss football season.

If none knows of one, is it possibler that I could just take a picture and trace i onto freezer paper or fusible web? has anyone done something like that before?

Taking a photograph and enlarging it sounds your best bet, do you have a black and white setting on your camera if so, it would be easier to define the areas for tracing - good luck, I guess you have already tried googling football helmets??? :D

I just did a quick search and there are a few entries for football appliqued banners which you could look at for inspiration there is one with the helmet ball and court in the background which would make a lovely quilt!!

Are you looking for a pieced helmet or applique only?

How about looking up clip art football helmet? You could enlarge it to whatever size you wanted.

what a relief! when i saw the thread title, i was afraid you'd want us to help you applique on the helmet. that could be hard on a needle, boy-howdy. :lol:

I did a search and found the one with the field and helmets, I might resort to buying it just for the helmet and football applliques!
