Free BOM Class

Recently there was a thread about online classes. I replied that I had taken three over about 1 and 1/2 years and how much I enjoyed them. They notified me yesterday that they are giving me FREE a 12 month BOM with tutorials for each of the 20 blocks that will make a nice lap quilt when finished. I just played Jan. lesson and its terriffic. Cant wait to get some fabric and dive in. I hope some of you got them too.

Can you share the internet address?

craftiladi 01-01-2012 06:34 AM

Is there a web site for the classes you are speaking of?

I was offered a free 12 month BOM class from Craftsy. Sounds like the same offer.

I don't know what ones she's talking about but I just got an email from craftsy.com and they are offering free BOM with videos tutorials. It so that people who want to learn but are either afraid to spend the money or don't have it to spend can see what they are all about. You'll do 2 blocks a month. I've not done any of their classes but for free how can I afford to not do them now.

I checked out this link http://www.craftsy.com/. I joined the BOM class.......this will teach me new blocks.....using my stash fabric and have a quilt to donate. Thank you for sharing!

there are so many free classes on the internet and happy with the ones that I have found.

I signed up for it too. It will be a fun way to spend a day each month.

I don't believe there are any classes; but there is another free BOM on line. The patterns will be available to down load on the 7th of each month. You can check it out at Shabby Fabrics Quilt Shop.

Today I looked at the first lesson for the Craftsy free Block of the Month. I loved the lesson! I can't wait to make my two January blocks! I printed the instructions and am looking through my stash for fabric.

I signed up to!!! The instructions look great and I intend to work from my stash!!!

I signed up, I'm new to quilting and have a new machine. I hope her very friendly and non-scary instructions give me the confidence to start cutting tomorrow.

I signed up too and cannot wait to start. This is my first online class. Won't have time to begin until thursday or friday. work and life will get in the way until then. Maybe we can post our blocks here and help each other out with any issues. I am willing to do this.

I signed up for this free workshop and just downloaded instructions and viewed the January blocks. There are two and they do look like fun! I plan to use my stash and I think it will be fun to see what we end up with! Very good instructions! www.craftsy.com

I just finished going through my stash, and picked out a group of fabric to start this BOM about 15 different scrappy fabrics as of today. Will be working on the first 2 blocks next week. Dark fabrics are being washed right now, will pre wash the lighter ones too. Don't know if I will use bright white or a muslin as the background. My goal is to shop from my stash as part of the QB fabric moratorium. It was actually fun, have to reorganize the stash closet tonight. I am going to buy another bin or two, want to combine all my solid fabric into one bin.
