I'm trying hard to get out of a no-sewing slump that's lasted several months, mainly due to some health issues.

So, for some encouragement and ideas, I checked out the websites of several fabric companies to see patterns available for some of their fabrics that I have in my stash.

I was amazed to see a wealth of patterns..FREE! Now who needs books when you can get lots of patterns at no cost, and immediately. All are in PDF format, easy to print. Now that I downloaded quite a few, I will need to decide which one to make.

i found a pattern and collection i really like on clothworks. can anyone tell me how the quality of their fabric is?

bluteddi 03-24-2011 04:58 PM

I rarely BUY a quilting pattern... I normally can find something close to anything I can purchase or at least figure it out on my own!

Thanks for some new great FREE sites!

The first site had so many good ideas to use panels. I am a panel collector, loved it!

Try this site. They have over 1100 sites listing free quilt patterns. Scroll down past the patterns with the pictures and you will find tons of sites. They even sorted a few into categories.

The Moda Bake Shop is a great place for patterns for charms, jelly rolls, layer cakes, etc.

I've found that most of the fabric manufacturers have a free pattern section on their website.

FREE is good.

Here a link for some more free patterns at Me and My Sister designs. I love their stuff.
