Thanks QuiltnNan but I have to say I need to QUIT looking at these links. I swear I have such a growing list of want to do's LOL

A french braid quilt is also on my long list of quilts I want to make.

I recommend investing in one of the French Braid books by Jane Hardy Miller. Not only will you find good, easy to follow directions, but there are also many variations and lots of beautiful quilts to look at.

i agree with Dunster---the french braid books are worth picking up- i own all 3 of them & have made some wonderful beautiful quilts from them over the years--they explain very well- have wonderful patterns in them & about guarantee fabulous results-regardless of your skill level

French braids are great. My recommendation is to be sure and be careful with those edges which turn to bias when you trim them. I wasn't careful and my three panels stretched to kingdom come!! There has been some discussion on here and I have a book (that I got too late) which talks about stay stitching before you trim off those edges. Some people starch. Anyway, the quilts are beautiful.

I made the most beautiful French Braid quilt using batiks. The book I have is called "French Braid Quilts, 14 Quick Quilts with Dramatic Results" by Jane Hardy Miller with Arlene Netten. They are all very beautiful and the instructions are very easy to understand. It took me 2 weeks to select this book.

I just sold my 2 French Braid books. Sorry. They went real cheap.
