I have a friend that wants me to make a quilt for her, I was thinking about making the friendship braid quilt. I heard that you can us a binding tool.(Which I am thinking of trying). I can't find a binding tool but have found a mitered ruler. Are they the samething?

glad that you asked! I have been wondering the samething

I googled both types and the only difference that I can see is that the mitering ruler is wider than the binding ruler.
They both have the same shape though. |
I have no idea how much either one costs but I can't see using a tool to put binding on. Cutting and sewing on binding is relatively easy. Why bother with yet another tool? Does it save that much time?

Hi,
I purchased the binding tool and have enjoyed using it - and I also have used it to cut a scrappy friendship braid quilt. The binding tool finishes off the two raw edges of the binding in a perfect mitered seam. I think that the tool was well worth the money - and I purchased it from Missouri Star Quilt Company. I have no affiliation with this shop - just a quilter that does not want to have to think when mitering the ends of my quilt binding. Sue in PA |
