Hi Everyone,
I have a question about the "Fun and Done" Quilt that was the topic several days ago. I got on the site to see how it was done and thought it would be a great project for my two granddaughters 9 and 12. But I was wondering how do you keep them from sewing beyond the batting so that when they go to turn over the inch overhang it clears the batting with out having to cut away extra stitching . I hope I'm making myself clear with this question. because I sure would like some help. Thanks Mimi

Maybe have them practice slowing and stopping on some scraps?
Have them slow way down when they get close to the end, and go one stitch at a time until they reach the end, until they get the hang of it?

Masking tape marking the "Do not enter" zone?

I made a fun and done. It was fun, and, it was done! I like the idea of the masking tape until they get more proficient.

HEHEHEHE I like that... do not enter! My son just said he would like to learn to quilt. I was showing him an amazing quilt a guy on the board did here and he was like... BOYS QUILT!?? And I said heck ya... some of the best quilters I know are guys! Now he is excited to start learning. Ill definitely use the do not enter tape idea!!
