As amazing as it seems to me, he did a great job and now the little guy purrs like a kitten. Wires were totally disconnected on the machine so he had to rewire and put connectors on them. I insisted he be the first one to turn it on since he's not really handy with electrical devices but he did a great job on this one. :D |

I am so glad you got the machine up and running---give your DH a big hug. I still feel you should contact the person(s) who supposedly "fixed" your machine and let them know how unhappy you were and you won't be returning. The owner may not have any idea what his son did and how it can hurt his business. You will be helping him as well as yourself.
Be nice but firm about it. |
I would also check out the inside to see how "clean" it is. One old machine I had, I turned over and took the bottim off of it (suitcase style). There was a casing there, being the curious type, I took it off. The seal fell apart and the grease inside was thick and old enough I think Noah used it. I used automotive engine degreaser to clean it and then packed it with grease again automotive type. Also bought automotive cork and cut my own seal. Sews real quiet, now to figure out how to set the timing....it catches the needle at times.
