:( I am looking for a fusable webbing where the backing does not separate from the webbing....can anyone recommend a good one?

are you talking about one with no paper?

I use wonder under and haven't had any trouble but have also heard that steam a seam is a good one...good luck!

Hi-did not know they make it without paper backing ....? Every quilt shop always says theirs is the best.. so I am looking for suggestions from the "pros" !!!! I don't even remember the name of the stuff I had-- when it separated I threw what little I had left in the garbage.....frustrated.

One of the things I have heard is that no matter which kind you get the paper will separate if its old.... so only buy what you need for the project you are currently working on...then maybe the paper won't separate?

Thanks... I had not heard that before. Have you ever heard of a process where you can reattach the paper once it has separated? I thought I heard them talking about it on qnn..... but was sewing at the time and not paying complete attention to the program.

I just bought a real lightweight fusible webbing at a fabic store here in Raleigh--no paper back, but you will need a teflon pressing sheet so that it won't stick to the iron. Iron it to 1 side using the pressing sheet. When it cools off, you can pull it up and place it on your background and fuse it in plac--very lightweight. I like it better because heat n bond and wonder under seem to be too stiff.

thanks... do you have a brand name? Have you ever heard of using parchment paper instead of the teflon pressing sheet? If I buy this fusible web I think I will try it :D

If I still have he original pkg, I can let you know when I get home tonight. Or I can check at th fabric stor 1st chance I gt. I never heard of the parchment paper method. I got the teflon sheet out of Nancy's Notions catalog. Hope this helps! :)

You can reattach the paper by using 505 basting spray. I like using Steam a Seam 2 the best for my applique projects.
