Does fusible interfacing need to be quilted like batting? I'm using it in large table runner. I plan to stitch in the ditch for the 2 rows but that leaves a large section in the middle without any stitching and didn't know if that would be a problem or not.

Are you using a batting on the table runner ?

No, there's not batting. Just the two pieces of cotton fabric with fusible interfacing inbetween. I did fuse it to the wrong side of the front.

On a table runner, I don't think it would need a lot of quilting, so I think you'd be safe not quilting the center panel.

LoisN, I love your avatar. Is that a pattern or did you design it yourself?

The quilting is mainly for the batting, so no batting minimal quilting just to hold the runner together :D:D:D
