I watch Georgia Bonesteel religiously every weekend, and on a recent episode I saw where she had quilted boxes with actual lids. I think she called it a "soft box?" Does anyone know where I can get instructions or a pattern on how to make these? I've done a google search, a quite thorough one actually and I have yet to find an example.
Thanks in advance to all who respond. Tina. |
She has a blog and is easy to contact. If anyone would know about the boxes she would.

If you go to amazon.com and check out and look under the pic of the book on the left of her book called Georgia Bonesteels quilting making legacy and chick on "search inside this book" it shows a soft box in the table of contents.

I was made a number of these back in 1983 when my DS was born... they are so cute :D:D:D

Lucky you... I wish our PBS carried her shows. I've never seen one...ever! Currently we only get Fons and Porter (which I love), Sewing w/ Nancy (which I also love), and two others that are just so-so-sew-sew....!!!!

can anyone show me a picture of one of these?

Me too, please!!!

I don't get any quilting or sewing shows any more. When I heard we were losing them I started taping the quilting show. I had already taped lots of the sewing show.

here is the link to where you can buy the book with the pattern in it. the only soft box she has done, is the Shikoku soft box with the lid. I have seen the show where she makes it twice, and it is wonderful. Her shows are still shown here in NC on PBS. I have 3 of here books, but don't have this one, so I might order it for myself!  The box is really beautiful!

I bought the book, so as soon as I get it I'll scan and send a pic. I couldn't find any online personally. Thanks everyone!!
