Getting a Nolting LA

I am so excited. I am trading in my "contrary "used Voyager 17 LA that has always given me and DH trouble. He has spent hours trying to get the stitch regulated. I have to give a plug to Missy Duke of Calico Junction in Winnsboro, TX. We have been talking to her for about a year and she wanted us to trade it in. She sells Noltings and is going to Houston next week to work in the Nolting booth. She took our old machine with her and the Nolting folks are bringing me a new one. It is the 17" fun quilter. It will fit on our Hinterberg frame so we are only getting the machine. We could not go to Houston ourselves because we are working next week. So I have to wait until she gets back from Houston but we are so looking forward to a machine that works.

How exciting for you. I am sorry however that you had problems with your Voyager 17. I have on and it works great. But it is always exciting to get something new and learn to use it. Congrats.

We bought the Voyager almost 2 years ago and always had trouble getting the right stitch. Either the top thread would give us trouble or the bobbin. DH talked to tech support many times plus got on the Voyager group on Yahoo I think is it trying to find out what to do. He tried everything but we were never pleased with the stitch. We had to constantly check underneath after doing only a few stitches. We even had a repairman come and adjust it but it did not last. I am so looking forward to a machine that work right.

Sounds like you've got a wonderful salesperson. Good luck with your Nolting and keep us informed about your progress.

How exciting. It was a year ago (will be on Nov. 9th) that I got my new APQS machine. (It was a larger one--after first ahving a Tin Lizzie. I remembet how excited I was when I ordered mine--so I can relate to how excited you are right now. Good Luck with it. My LQS has a Nolting and she loves it and never has any problems with it.

I also ordered the 23'' fun quilter by Nolting. I am thinking on getting the QBOT. Do you know anything about them?

I also traded in a 2 1/2 year old but defective Tin Lizzie to get a Nolting and what a joy. There is nothing about it that has not been well thought out and the stitch is great. I have had mine for 2 weeks and just finished putting my 8th quilt on the frame. There was not learning curve what so ever.

I love my Nolting too. It's like the featherweight of the longarm world..easy to work on and goes forever.
