I have been going through some of my reference books and came upon a small book by Ami Simms called 'How NOT to Make a Prize Winning Quilt'. I reread it and I am sure I scared my family because I was laughing hysterically. If you can find a copy do get it - for us experienced quilters it is a very funny walk down memory lane when we all first started quilting and as for you newbies - you are DEFINITELY not alone!

I'll keep an eye out for this book. Thanks for the "book review". We all need to have a reminder of the early quilting experiences. :)

I bet you'll never look at orange and brown the same way!

Ami Simms is a talented quilter with a great sense of humor. Her lectures are great fun and right on.

Be sure to go to her website and check out the gallery of bad quilts... you'll be laughing for hours!!

Thanks. I just ordered it from Amazon.com.

I loved her stack and whack technique. And the polyester! Yikes!!!

Ami Simms is a talented author and person in general. She was a guest speaker at out guild a couple years ago. She is a kick in person, just as she is in her books.
