Goals for the week and UFO's

I have never been a big fan of having ufos hanging around. I like to see my projects finished but... sometimes we run out of money. I have my sons quilt top finished now waiting for paychecks to be able to buy the backing. So I decided while I was waiting to finish some blocks that were giving to me at the Christmas Party. So now I have 2 quilt tops ready to be finished.
I do have to finish my BOM for my class next Sat. I have 9 to do. That is my goal this week. Should not be that hard, but I am bound and determined to finish my blocks every month. This is my first one.. I am so excited.

Anyway decided to share my goals for the week. Anybody else have goals ?

Yes... I have Farmer's Market blocks to get done for our class on Saturday. That is my main goal this week. If I have time, I want to practice more FMQ on my Sweet 16. I have quilt tops building up in such a high pile, they may topple over and smother me.

My sister just sent me the fabric for her next baby's crib ruffle, quilt & daiper bag... and she's due in March! I need to get a lot of work done on these this week. While it would have been nice to have gotten the fabric sooner, I have to admit that she sent it to me 6 months out on baby #1 and I still waited until the last minute so I guess she knows me :) By week after next I hope to have it all done and back in the mail to her.

3 sides of a king size quilt to bind, and a sleeve to sew on.

I hope to get Easy Street blocks and triangles finished.

Yea for all the good goals. I started my practice one today and figured out the measurements. I have 1 1/2 squares to cut.
I am cutting them slightly bigger and then cutting them down. Glad I followed the directions and made a practice one. Will turn it in to another smaller quilt when I am done.

I have 2 more rows to quilt on my cowboy quilt using my sweet 16 machine. Then I need to sew the Binding on. My next project is to finish putting together the planet patchwork News Years ' mystery quilt top. And lastly quilt a baby quilt for a gift. That should keep me busy for this week.

I just finished the hand quilting on a queen size last night!! I have the fabric sitting in front of me to cut out 2 more tops..one for a graduation gift and the other for a granddaughter... Both will be twins...I want to get both of these cut and pieced this week, so when I get out this weekend, I can get the backing fabric for them if there is nothing in my stash that fits with them. I will then be hand quilting them for a while!!

I have had a chair throw/"something for the dogs to lie on" quilt basted and ready for quilting for months...along with a string quilt top for my DIL. Both these require FMQ to look their best....I am however a big chicken and have been putting off learning FMQ ....well not this week! I am using the "throw" as my experiment piece (I ran out of really awful practice fabric) the top is feather printed, high sheen, curtain fabric (not backed), with an old tablecloth for batting and a piece of thick brown velvet for the back....basically the blocks are rectangular and so far two rectangles have been FMQ'd! Yay I can sort of do it! (no birdsnests, eyelashes or rumpled backing). Sure there are a few uneven stitches and the design is more "mutant seaweed" than curvaceous stippling but I got that hopping foot on and DID IT!!. That...is my goal for the week....sorry for rabbiting on...but I'm really surprised with myself and no-one else in my life will "get it" like my QB friends:).
