Golden Threads Quilting Paper
 

Has anyone used this quilting paper? If so, did you like it? It's an interesting method of getting the quilting design on the quilt.

I haven't used mine yet, but have just traced out the Sept. FMQ challenge design & it really just feels like gold coloured tissue, hope it rips off easier.

I use it...it's great! It's great when you have several blocks with the same design, so you can stack them up and sew thru one layer without thread to make the holes, then you pin to the block and follow the pattern with the thread. It's very easy. I always use crayola washable markers to draw my designs on the first layer, then I don't have to worry about them transferring onto the quilt.

I love it for free motion machine quilting. I mark my design, pin it on my quilt top and start quilting. I don't have to worry about using a type of marker that will not come out of the quilt and the paper is easy to tear off. I usually use pencil to mark the design on the paper.

I love this method of doing quilting...I have used the golden threads paper, and also examination table paper that I have gotten through a friend. I love not to have to actually mark lines on a quilt that I have to worry about getting out.

I've used it with by stacking and sewing through multiple layers with a large topstitch needle - this avoided problems with the holes closing up. It was pretty easy to get off and any bits left over could be picked up with a sticky lint roller. Larger pieces could be taken our with tweezers.

The only negative - it wasn't transparent enough for me to see a missed safety pin. My fault though, not that of the paper.

I've also used the examination table paper. I liked the Golden Threads better but will use up the examination table paper before I buy more Golden Threads.
