Good fabric stores in Southern CA.
 

I'm going to be in Murrieta. CA for two weeks and am wondering how to get a list of all the fabric stores in that area - from Riverside to San Diego. Does anyone know, or can anyone give me some suggestions of some stores to visit?
I know about the one in Temecula, I've been there, but are there any others that are recommended??

There are quite a few in the San Diego area. Cozy quilts in Rancho San Diego is nice but a little expensive. Rosie's Calico Cupboard in La Mesa is where I usually go if I can't figure out something from my stash. They have a nice line of markdowns, helpful people etc.

google Quilt Shops in California.But go to Rosie's Worth the time. Last time I was there she had almost the entire strip mall for her shop.

Make sure you visit Rosie's in San Diego.

Amidon Quiltworks in Poway, Cozy Quilt Shop in El Cajon, Quilt in a Day in San Marcos and Quilter's Choice in Chula Vista are all good too.

Don't pass this place up (M&L Fabrics). Wear good walking shoes, you will be there a while.

I vote for M&L also. It is about a hour from Murrieta, but WELL worth the trip. Not far from Knott's. Be prepared to spend time and $$$$

OMG YES! M&L fabrics is a must!! Wear comfortable cloths and be prepared to dig Here are a few pictures that I took because no one would believe me about this place.

What I didn't show you was another room in the back that has even more fabrics, not cottons.

When I go, I spend more than 3 hours in the stacks and last time, over $500! But I have more fabric than I know what to do with and I want to go back!!!

There are girls there who's job it is to keep the stacks straight, that is all they do. When I go it is during Road to CA in January, they get loads of women who show up just for the stacks. They don't want you pulling the fabrics out, but if you lift the stacks to what you want and then replace them, they don't get to mad at you. Don't try to pull anything that is more than about 8 inches down because not only is the fabric on top to heavy, but they have it wedged in there so tight that it wont move. It takes two to get some pieces out, one to lift and one to pull, its quite funny to watch sometimes! LOL

Enjoy your visit and take an ice chest and some munches for your DH as he will have a long wait in the car for you LOL

Always do QID! Follow the map, they are in an industrial complex and a little hard to find, but once you are there, ENJOY!

Girls are very helpful and when El is in town, she will be in the store, just ask and she will be happy to come out and sign your books or even just say HI.

I agree with others, definitely go to Rosie's and M&L's. You can find just about anything you need there.

rosies has chairs and magazines outside for the husbands...always a hoot to overhear their conversations on the way in...have actually heard husbands bragging about how much their wives were going to spend... trying to be the most 'put-upon' maybe, but proud nevertheless...

Thank you, everyone for your replies and all your help. I'll be visiting my son and DIL and helping them move into their brand new home, and hope to get some time to do some fabric shopping. The past few times I've been there, I've only been able to go to the store in Temecula. It's nice, but I need more variety. I went to Rosie's a few years ago, but didn't have any money to spend. That was a real bummer! So much fabric and no money to spend - my worst nightmare - but I loved their shop. I'll see if I can get over to the one near Knott's Berry Farm, but not sure if there will be time this trip. Thanks for the pictures! I really want to make it to QID and I don't think I knew about the one in Escondido. I'll make sure to get there. Thank you again very much - all of you!
