I'm hoping you ladies can help me out. I have a chance to buy a 2003 Grace quilting frame for $350. I'm sure that is a good price, specially as it has never been used. Just wanted to know what has changed since then and to make sure it would work with my Brother CS-6000i. I've tried googling it, so far no luck finding the info I need. Thanks!

what is the name of the Grace Frame?

All the ad says is Grace machine quilter.

I am just now finishing my first quilt top(crib). Never quilted anything, but I am loving piecing the top together and wouldn't be able to afford sending big pieces out to be quilted. The other consideration for me is I have been wanting an embroidery machine for years now, finally in a position I can buy a small one, but would probably only be able to buy one or the other.

here's the link to Grace and you can scroll down under previous models and you will find the manual for that frame

you can certainly put that sewing machine on the frame except they do not make speed controls or a stitch regulator to go with that sewing machine. so you will have to use the foot pedal to operate which is very cumbersome.

also the throat space for that machine is very small so by the time you put the take up rail inside the frame you might only have 2 inches of quilting space.

you might want to consider getting a new machine with at least a 9 inch throat space.

deciding between a quilting frame or an embroidery machine is really up to you.

i have an embroidery machine and i use it about once or twice a year.

i have a quilting frame and i use it almost weekly.

it really depends on what you think you'll get more use out of - quilting or embroidery.

Thank you for all the info. Trying to figure out what I would use more is definitely going to be the hardest part. I'll research all the pro's and con's to try to figure it out.
