Has anyone seen the Leah Day website of 365 filler quilting designs? It is fantastic and absolutely free! This young gal, Leah, set out to create one new filler design/day for one year. The designs are broken down by skill level and each has a brief video where you can see the actual sewing process. You will need to give your email address to sign up, but ...... trust me ...... there are no "catches", it is absolutely FREE. I think the whole idea behind this venture is that Leah Day is trying to promote a business venture in the making. So far, she has put out 2 out of 5 DVDs on FMQ which you can purchase if you like her style. I think this gal is very talented and an excellent machine quilter; She sights Karen McTavish and Diane Gaudinszki (sp?) as people that she learned from. Here is the website:

I am so glad that you shared this
great site with all of us!! :D I am anxious to check it furthur!! :D :D :D :D |
Love her FMQ designs, but she's showing how it works on a stand-alone block.
How hard is this to do when you're moving an entire quilt? I'm new at this and having a hard time of wrapping my little pea brain around moving an entire quilt around LOL. |
Yes, I agree 100% that it is much harder to use these filler quilting designs on a large quilt, as opposed to the small block that is used for the demo videos. I think that small wall hangings are Leah's area of expertise. In any event, the website is free and even though I may never be skilled enough to use ALL 365 designs in my lifetime, I'm happy for whatever I am able to learn from this wonderful source.

Thank you so much for the link! I'm just beginning to learn to FMQ and I'm a bit of a perfectionist, which means I'm a bit frustrated with my level of skill at the moment. I'm like a sponge trying to soak up any and all tips on how to improve and I can't wait to watch the link.

Yes I have seen it. I am on her e-mail list and I get an e-mail once a week with her new FMQ tutorials. I have watched her videos on there and they are awesome. She certainly takes the intimidation out of FMQ.
Because of her, I purchased the Machinger gloves and they do make a huge difference. SID is so much easier. My hands and shoulders don't ache as much. I also got the cheater needles. |
After spending half the evening watching her tutorials and getting excited, I emailed her link to all of my quilting buddies and now they are excited too.
SID? |
SID = Stitch in the Ditch :D
I just watched a few and signed up too. :D |

Leah was a contributing member of this board at one time. I haven't seen her on here in a while but she's amazing
