I wanted to suggest that you "test drive" it before you buy it. Make sure that it fit you!!! Have fun buying your machine. :)

Just a warning about 12 mo. same as cash deals.
They want you to be late on a payment so they can tack on the interest.
which is very high.
As you get closer to pay off time they start mailing the statements later and later so you have very little time to pay. I finally sent a large final payment registered mail several months ahead of time and will never fall for another same as cash deal again. So sneaky.

Well I just came out of my sewing room. I have been playing all day with my new machine. It is so cool. I was very surprised at how easily I am picking it up. It is just like learning a new computer program. I am going to love it.

I did ask them to take it out of the box, the sales lady was a bit surprised at that request. But I think she wanted to sell it. I had her give me a quick lesson which I dragged out for about 30 minutes, and then I signed up for a class which includes two 3 hour sessions.

Rose Marie: I figured that I would plan to pay it off in 11 months so I won't get hit with the interest. I know that you have to be very careful and dilligent with those same as cash deals. But I keep a calendar and very close track because I don't trust them either.

I am so excited for you. You got a great deal!

I hate to repeat what others have said but do pay attention to the dates on your payment plan. We just got an LCD tv on that type of finance plan. We got our first statement on 8/30 but it was dated 8/20 (it does NOT take 10 days in the mail) and the payment is due on 9/9. Your best bet is to pay online because they will do everything possible to try and get that finance charge money from you.

bodie- wow, that makes sense now. I'm getting my credit card statement (for business use) later and later and it's due closer to the due date. Luckily I track the expenditures and have the money ready to go out when the bill comes in, but I thought it was weird. Thanks for the heads up, maybe it's time for a different cardholder.

Also they use preposted invelopes with no date when sent.
They take a long time to post the payments also.
If you wait till the 11th month it will be to late. I paid mine 4 months in advance. I was getting the statement just 10 days before due date.
Enjoy your new machine, I sure like mine.

I have been enjoying my "Baby" all morning. I sewed a piece I am working on upside down, need to rip it out, so I thought it was a good time to change my loads of laundry and check my e-mail.

Thank you for the reminder about those credit card companies. I know they try to assist you to miss the dates They are very sneaky. It is sad that they operate that way. I have a strict budget so that I can pay within in a couple of days of receiving the bill. If something seems like it is taking too long to arrive, I go online. Plus for the past year, I have been paying my credit cards online, because they usually apply it within a couple of days and I always print the confirmation of the receipt of payment making it harder for them to trip me up.

Well back to sewing. . .I can't believe how easy this thing is to operate.

I have 2 Babylock machines and 1 Babylock serger. I love all three. I got my Ellegante as "used" at a quilt shop. You would have never known it had been used as a demo. I know you will enjoy your purchase.
