Had not seen any threads with these topics and was wondering if anyone on the Board was as interested as I am in all aspects of hand dyeing, painting fabrics, applying inks to fabrics, stencils etc to add surface embellishment to fabrics.

i dye a good many of my fabrics, cottons, silks & wools; have been for years- i can not remember a time one of my quilts did not contain at least a little (hand dyed fabric)...i love crazy quilting too- so do some embellishing, embroidery, tatting, ribbon work, the list goes on & on ....i'm sure there are many of us here & on the 'crazyquilting' board ... plus there is all the 'art-quilt' sites to check out. EveningStar Designs is a good site to check out if you are looking for supplies-

Lots of good books on a variety of topics. Go to the local library first and see what you would like for reference. For dyeing, the best book is now out of print: Color by Accident by Ann Johnston.
