As a lefty, I once heard Alex Anderson (also a lefty) say that she learned to do quilting by sitting across from a right handed quilter, and doing what she did like she was looking in a mirror. If that makes any sense. It kind of works for me, as that is how we lefties learn everything. When I am showing a righty how to do stuff, that is what I have them do--sit across from me and watch me. Hope that helps.
