I am just finishing up an Amish Quilt and I am just curious about this--were Amish quilts ever hand tied or just hand quilted!

I would like to tie it, but I will like to do it true!

Thanks for any help you can give me! Edie

I would like to know the answer to this as well. I have only seen them hand quilted, but it doesn't mean they weren't tied. I am sure someone here will have the answers. Good question.

The Amish do make tied quilts. Check out this site.

Here is a site where they were raffling a hand-tied Amish quilt (third paragraph). This a neat place, by the way.

So even though,, they usually quilt, some are tied. So you can still be authentic if you tie your quilt.

They mostly quilt but tie if you want.

Thank you all for your help. It help me to decide that I would like to tie the quilt. It'll be nice to sit and enjoy the rest of the summer on the patio tying it. Thanks again. Edie
