Happy Thanksgiving to all...I am looking for a pattern for a walker tote. I would like to make a few for our upcoming church bazaar. I have upholstery material which I thought might work well. I have found a few searching "free patterns" but I thought someone here might have some input. You all have been a big help in the past.

Would any of these work?

This one has links to several walker bags:

Hope this helps.

Thanks for the links and info. I have some people who could really use this. We always have too much stuff we want/need to carry with us and you need both hands for the walker and stuff goes flying every which way.

Don't forget pics of the finished project. We love pics! :-)

Not sure which pattern company has a pattern, but if your Wal-mart has a fabric dept. still, their patterns are $2.94 I think. JoAnn's may be having a sale this weekend on patterns or was it Hobby Lobby? Sorry, can't remember.
Good luck.

There is a cute pattern for walkers/ wheelchairs on downy.com shown under the quilt patterns. I saw it when I was looking for the quilt for kids information.

I made a 12" x 14" tote bag for my walker. I put the handles across the opening instead of opposite sides. Then I cut them in the middle, added velcro and was done. I used a magnetic snap for a closure and inside side pockets for credit card- cash etc, keys, tissues and hand sanitizer. Anything small that you don't want to dig for in the bottom. Works great for me. Most of the commercial bags are too small to carry "stuff" besides the essentials.

I put outside pockets on my first one and had a problem with things falling out when people bumped into me. Also, it's easier for someone to steal from you. My next one, (in progress ) will have a full zipper closing.

Simplicity patterns has one for different types of bags for wheelchairs, walkers & loungers. The pattern number is 2822. I picked mine up at Joann's when they had them for $.99. They look very easy to make. Hope this helps you.
