HAPPINESS is...???

Happiness is...FINALLY finding the perfect quilt pattern for that special yardage in your stash that you've been adoring/treasuring/saving for only who knows how long - all during which time you were convinced that the perfect pattern never did really exist-that it was only a figment of your imagination!!!

What makes YOU happy?

PenniF 10-29-2012 11:23 AM

Finding that once the blocks are all stitched together 99.9% of the points came out right!!! :)

I second Penni's reply!

luana 10-29-2012 01:58 PM

Happiness is the time I spend with my quilting friends. Doesn't make any difference of we quilt, shop, or talk. I love my quilting friends - they make me happy :)

GreatStarter 10-29-2012 02:28 PM

New fabric!!!

Kat

momto5 10-29-2012 02:39 PM

New (old) machines!!

DogHouseMom 10-29-2012 02:49 PM

I agree with OP ... I still have ... a STACK of fabric that I am waiting for the perfect pattern to develop.

other than that .... once I quilted and quilted and quilted and finished quilting it and when I checked the bobbin, there was 1" of thread left on it! I giggled all day long about that.

cmrenno 10-29-2012 02:55 PM

I'm easy, I am so happy when I sew on my binding and the seams of the binding don't wind up in the corners. And I smile when I finish sewing it on and I only have a small piece of binding leftover.

I'm with Penni! I love opening that block and pressing it and seeing that all the points/corners/lines match up and look good! I hate having to pull seams and start over :/

Happiness is waking up and realizing my husband's disease is still in remission and we have one more "normal" day.

Silver Needle 10-29-2012 06:27 PM

Sewing without family interruptions.

lovingmama 10-30-2012 03:58 AM

Happiness is to know you are loved!

Elise1 10-30-2012 05:13 PM

I think my favorite part of quilting is anticipating the next project.

caspharm 10-30-2012 05:22 PM

Perfect (well almost perfect) points, good company, finishing projects.

wuv2quilt 10-30-2012 05:26 PM

Reading other QB member's signature's, and then laughing so hard I almost tinkle......Yes Sue....Your slap them and then say "mosquito" had me ROFL :D

Buckeye Rose 10-30-2012 06:05 PM

Happiness for me is finishing that quilt that required almost more than you had (mentally) and then seeing the recipients face when you give it to them....those smiles of "I love it" are worth all the stress and time spent with the ripper.

batikmystique 10-30-2012 06:12 PM

I have enjoyed reading what makes you happy, and I can relate to a lot of them. And, yes Sue, I LOVE your signature block...totally made me laugh! Thanks, everyone, for posting.

janceejan 10-30-2012 06:34 PM

 wonderful !!!!!

Seeing the look of joy on the recipients' face when they receive the gift. If they don't like it, or it wasn't what they wanted, you can tell right away!

A fabric find at a very low price

KwiltyKahy 10-31-2012 04:51 AM

All of the above , except for Tanyal's normal day. My husband is gone and I want to join you in rejoicing in his remission.

karenpatrick 10-31-2012 05:00 AM

You said it Luana! The information/opinion exchanges are worth sooo much, not to mention that our group are really neat people!

It is an art unto itself to be able to put the NOW into every moment.... for some of us it takes a lot of practice. ENJOY!

Happiness is discovering that I have a creative side and get to use it!
Watching the quilt come to life.
Happiness is sharing with the QB. :)

JANICE E. 10-31-2012 07:27 AM

Happy when I have finished the quilt and I know there are mistakes, but they won't be noticed by the receiver

Having more than 1 room as a sewing room!!!

carolynjo 10-31-2012 08:43 AM

I am happy when I finish the binding and all the corners are straight and square.

roserips 10-31-2012 09:22 AM

Having the time to sew with no interruptions.

Lori S 10-31-2012 09:55 AM

Happiness is working on a scrap quilt , wondering the whole time " am I going to like this?" and then when the blocks are finished , and put them up on a design wall ... stepping back .. and having it better than you ever imagined.

Pat G 10-31-2012 11:09 AM

I'm happy when I realize that my chores for the day are done, dinner is planned, ironing is caught up so now I'm free to quilt.

Chuckling in agreement! I know there will inevitably be mistakes as I'm going along, and I'm just sure they will be seen afterwards. I'm beyond happy, pretty much ecstatic, when I can't even find them myself when the quilt is
done!!!:p

Learning to be content with what you have and not worrying about what you dont have. Knowing you are blessed.
