I went to Harbor Freight to check and see if they have the carpet cutter blades. And yes they did. I only bought myself 2 packages. Soon as I can I am going to go and get some more. Anyways, I ask the girl at the checkout counter if its something that they always have in stock and she checked and said "yes we always have them in stock, in fact there are 30 packages in the back and what is on the shelf" Well what was on the shelf had to be at least 40 or 50 packages!!! But there was a ton of them. Just wanted to let you know that the Harbor Freight that is nearest me (an hours drive away one way) has a ton of them. :)

My girlfriend said she doesn't think they hold their sharpness as well as the other name brands. Let us know.;...

I looked online and they say you get two blades for $1.99. At that price I'd be happy if they didn't last quite as long as Olfa blades, but I do wonder. Hmm, should I try them?

I've bought some and I gave a couple to a friend of mine, we're still using them and have absolutely NO complaints.

Oh try them!!! I've been using them since September and have had very good luck. For 2 for $1.99.....you should at least give them a try.

They're the best deal going!!

I have had one in my cutter for over 2 months now and it is still very sharp. Like someone said, for the price they are I will re[lace them sooner if I have to. At a dollar a blade I think I can afford to.

WOW I'm gonna have to try them . MY MIL and I were just talking about replacing all of ours on Saturday

Didn't someone on another thread say that these blades chew up the mats faster because they are sharper than regular rotary cutter blades?

4girlsmimi 01-25-2011 08:26 PM

Got to get me some of these and try them.

bsktkeeper 01-25-2011 08:40 PM

The one I have in my rotary cutter has cut fabric for three quilts , queen size , still sharp.

Airwick156 01-26-2011 12:07 PM

I replaced my blade yesterday with one of them and man was it sharp. The ladies at my little sewing group gave me the money to go and buy a bunch for them on Tuesday next week when I get back over there.
One lady had a cutter, I didn't pay attention to the name of it, but the original blade hole had like a 3 sided circle, I don't know how to describe it it looked a bit like 3 flower petals. Anyways the blade worked on it too. So that doesn't matter.

I love mine. I buy all they have every time I go by there. LOL

Scissor Queen 01-26-2011 12:33 PM

I went the totally opposite direction and invested in a Gingher rotary cutter and blades. Talk about super sharp!! At almost 11 bucks per blade I'll only buy them at 50% off at Jo-Ann's!!
