I have had the book for a couple of years and am now taking the plunge to make it. My problem is that all the decorative stitches they say to use are from the Bernina machine. I have a Baby Lock Essante embroidery machine and a pfaff 2058 sewing machine but can't really find stitches that I think are as nice as the Berninas.
If anyone has made this using dec. stitches with either of the two machines I have I would love to know which stitches you used.

I suggest you make a map of the stitches available in your machine. Just take a scrap frabric and either batting or stabilizer, and try all your stitches in order, using the standard size when you turn on the machine and them try them a little larger, but make sure you record what size you tried. You may find that combining two different stitches you can create something unique that you like. In some machines you can combine different sequences, but what I mean is to stitch one and then stitch the other one on top, to fill it more or make it fancier. You could do it both on the same color, on two different colors, or variegated thread, in which case the final product will be a surprise even for you.

Making the map will give you an idea of what stitches are available and in which areas there are empty sections where you an incorporate another stitch.

Thanks Maride

I wouldn't have thought of stitching one stich on top of another. I'll play around and see what I can come up with.
