Okay for Mothers day my husband built my a small (10' x 18') deck out back..because of the way our yard is laid out it is attached to the side of our garage which sets behind our house...so there is just a large tan colored metal corriagted wall..So my Idea was to take a large (nice poster size) frame and make a paper pieced scene I am thinking log cabin...I love paper piecing and have always wanted to take several patterns and make a large scene..I could hand this on the wall and "artwork" (we live in the country and love country life) so a log cabin country scene...i was just wondering if anyone and tried anything like this..I have several paper piece patterns but will have to go looking for alot more..I have a LARGE tub of scraps I know would be perfect for this...ALso thinking of doing a smaller version of a lighthouse scene for my bathroom

Great idea!

Depending on the light/shade of your wall, you may find that the fabrics will fade with time. Also, from the rain.

I have thought of the rain and sun issue...Hubby is going to be putting a roof over the deck and that will shield it from both..to extra shield from rain and moisture I plan on sealing the frame with silicone...

Thanks everyone...I am going to start collecting more paper piece patterns I will post pictures when I get it started
