I made a quilt and used the warm and white batting. The quilt was navy blue. when I got it back from the quilter, it was full of fuz. the quilter said that it was because of the warm and white batting.

Can someone tell me what batting to use when the quilt is navy and not have the white fuzz. I want the quilt to be a little heavy. Whatever batting, should it be doubled or single?
Your help is so appreciated.

I am not an expert by any means, but I had a quilt that had a lot of black in it and found that some of the batting did seem to fuzz through. I later found out that there is black batting available.

I have never had that happen with warm and natural, which is basically the same thing... I'm sorry, but it sounds like she may have allowed your quilt to come into contact with something else... :(

Are you talking about bearding... little bits poking up through the needle holes of the quilting? If so, I agree with what was previously stated by Nursie76.

Oh ok...Well that is called "bearding" when the quilter quilts the quilt and the batting pokes through the holes creating the fuzz...it washes away and you won't see it again ..but you can use black batting ..it is still there you just don't see it as much. All of the brands of batting do that... it is not specific to a brand or type. Warm and White is a good brand of batting. If you don't want to wash it then you may try just tumbling it in the dryer and then hitting it with a lint brush..it should come off.

hobbs makes a really nice black batting. it is very nice to work with, warm and fluffy.
