This critter intrigues me - it's a little computer box that mounts to make certain machines (Juki, Brother 1600, one of the Babylocks as well as the Mega Quilters) into automated quilting machines. It works off of SD cards, which are easy enough to find - a lot of digital cameras use those. You can use their designs or record your own.

Here's the website: http://www.myqbot.com/

What do you think?

No, but it sure looks like a neat idea. Wonder what is sells for?

I saw it on the Pfaff website, but it didn't give a good explanation, it does look interesting.

I was just at Joanns today and the Viking dealer has one. It is VERY neat. The sales woman was very excited about it. So was I. Then I asked what the price tag was, $4999. Just for the Qbot.

OHHHHHhhhhh! That must have been the thing I saw at Joann's today! I didn't go over there to look at it any closer, I just saw it and smiled. The lady in the Viking dealer part of my Joann's, is scary.

What do I think? I think it may put a lot of longarm quilters out of business. However, if I can handle a lot of business, maybe I can buy one

Jacquemoe, I don't think it'll be putting longarm quilters out of business anytime soon. It's expensive, not the most intuitive to operate, and just doesn't have the creative judgment a professional longarm quilter has :D

That being said, if I take my quilts to the local quilt shop here, they get put on a computerized Gammill. I think I'd much rather have a quilter do it

Wow, that is neat, I hadn't seen or heard of one. It's too expensive for my pocketbook.

I just purchased it. Will try to get around to attaching it to my Little Grace this weekend. I have a full weekend so it might be Monday before I get to it. Can Hardly wait. Purchased it at Allbrands.com for 499 with free shipping. I'll let you know how it goes.

Oh the word Qbot is on the box but the unit is called Quilter Cruise Control. It hooks up to your frame and your sewing machine. It uses certain frames and machines. I have the Juki TL98QE for quilting. It can be set up on several different systems.
