Have you used Slice Fabrique?

While watching HSN today I saw a demo for a new tool called Slice Fabrique. It cuts shapes out of fabric that you have added fusible web to.

The shapes come on little discs that you put into the machine. If you own this machine, do you like it, would you recommend it and are there a variety of discs to purchase? Is there another comparable machine on the market that you think is better?

Thanks,

I hadn't even heard of this machine before so don't know anything about it. I have an accuquilt studio cutter and like it very much. HOpe you find out a lot of info on it.

I own the Studio and love it. You can also google the Vagabond cutter. It's electric and kind of cool.

At $189 I'd have to cut an awful lot of fused fabrics with is to make it worth the dollars.

I've seen this on HSN but I don't have one. I also use the GO. My friend dove911 just bought one but I don't know if she's used it yet. You could PM her.

I bought it for $149 at Hobby Lobby not too long ago. I haven't really done much with it yet. You need to be sure you have the "hands free" collar and plate, because it is hard to control it if you don't. It comes with a basic card with quite a bit on it. There are other cards, but they're about $50 apiece, so I won't be buying many. It cuts shapes up to 4". I thought it would be neat for cutting applique pieces. I got the Elite.

Don't know if it was the same model, but I did see one on clearance at Tuesday Morning a couple weeks ago. Might check there first.

My daughter got this for Xmas and we love it! We (I am lucky to be her Mom) use it all the time. Love to personalize quilts!!

I've been looking for a cutting machine and I'm kind of interested in knowing more about this one also. I know most of the cutting machines are reasonably priced for what they do, but I THINK the dies cost quite a bit and you can't just pick which die you want...they come in a bundle. I want one of those, but the dies are holding me back. This one has SD cards and seem to have a lot of selections on them. I am going to research this machine.

the GO and GO Baby have individual dies and if you "shop around" prices can be very reasonable. These are not only good for appliques figures but also for quilt piecing i.e., squares, triangles, strips, rectangles circles, etc. and the sizes of these pieces may be large than the size limitation of the fabrique...don't know for sure as I have the GO and not interested in fabrique.......
