I think I goofed, I bought heat and bond off the bolt and I think I got the regular not the light. Do u think it will make any difference if I used the regular on the applique? I stitched the applique with a machine blanket stitch. I don't think your suppose to stitch the regular H&b only the light. thank you for your help.......Michele No directions came with the heat and bond

I bought regular cause they (Joann's) didn't have the light. Used it on one quilt. Didn't like it cause it made that particular applique too stiff. Went back, waited for the light and was much happier.

Not sure if regular is okay. But if it's NOT sewable Heat and Bond, then it will muck up your sewing needle. As far as using a machine blanket stitch, I can't give you any info on that either. I use the sewable Heat and Bond and use a plain applique stitch on my projects.

Only Heat and bond light is currenlty available on a bolt. The other ( heavy or the kind you should not try to sew through) is now only available in pre cut lenghts in a package. It is possible you purchased from a bolt that has been hanging around for awhile , but its been over a year thatheat and bond stopped selling the regular or heavy on bolt.
Look at the edge of the heat and bond ( paper side) there is a printing about every 1/2 yard on the edge in pink ( it says Heat and Bond). If it is in pink you have the light. |
It does have a pink heat and bond mark....so I guess it is light then.....Thank you for y our help.........Michele
