I'm stuck on my Besssie Pease. It's the second time I'm doing it. The first time I was so excited I didn't even think about a pattern, I just started. The second time as you can see, I've made my decorater blocks an 1" smaller than my framed blocks. Mind you my sewing is a bit iffy, but I'm getting back into the swing of it. I had to stop doing this quilt for awhile out of frustration. Can anyone help me?

Please download pics, they are normal. For some reason they come up dark on page.

Adding a one inch border, maybe in the tan you used in the other block, should solve the problem. Cute print!

I like your idea of adding some embellishment like applique. I've done that with some of my "design opportunities". It works and looks like you always planned it that way anyhow. Just don't tell!

Cute print, the quilt will look great..just give it a go!

I agree, the applique looks really nice.

The tan is the bessie fabric I matched each strip to each child on the block, you probably have to look closely on the pic.

Thanks. :-)

Boy, I needed that encouragement. My mother in-law (designer sewer) came over on Saturday and couldn't believe I how well I did. My husband had bought me the Berina six years ago when I was pregnant with the first. I just brought it out again as a New Year stress relief.
She had given about 30 yards of all different Amy Butler fabric over Christmas-that's all I needed to give it a go. Actually, I found this fabric in November and that really started the itch.

Thanks again,

Elizabeth

Thank you. I'm all excited now. Real adults to talk to and share advice with. My kids are getting cabin fever. I joined the board in the middle of the night last night (my only time alone). I'm going to be addicted to this computer with you gals instead of quilting!!!!!
