I've started working on a Dear Jane quilt. The book says to use Reynolds freezer paper to cut the shapes. Supposedly, when you iron the paper on to the fabric, it is supposed to stay in place for a while. Mine keeps falling off in a few minutes. What am I doing wrong?

Sometimes mine will come off too. Just iron it a few seconds more; I set my iron on cotton.

If you manipulate the fabric too much it will come off quicker. Also make sure you starch the fabric well first.

just be sure and iron the slick shiny side of the freezer paper to the back of the fabric, iron with a hot iron, i don't starch fabric first and it stays tilli pull it off, hope this helps.

I was running into this problem this weekend, and found if I starched the fabric, the freezer paper didn't like it. Normally it sticks pretty well - you don't want to "under" or "over" heat it though. You might want to get a new roll, or try the roll you have on a different fabric. Perhaps it's the line you are working with??

Good luck. I'm starting my Dear Jane early next year. I'm debating about fabrics and want to make sure they are perfect - this is going to be a long process and don't want to hate the fabric half-way through!
