Hi All,

I have just finished piecing a nursery quilt which uses a large panel (jungle) and primary 9 patch with a couple of windmill? blocks with zebra stripe and primary colours thrown in for good measure.

The back is made up of primary strips!!!

My problem is that I have it all on my gracie II ready to quilt... I was going to use a neutral thread.... but it shows up so much on the primary colours!!!! I am only going to do a meander so the quilting is not the star of the show. What should I do?

Hugs

It will be ok to go ahead.. it is one of those personal choice things.. do you have any varigated thread... But seriously NO QUILT POLICE will get you if you continue on with the thread ya have... PROMISE!

Maybe gray or a multi-colored thread.

try primary varigated thread

I would use variegated thread that had most of the colors in the quilt. It would add some fun to the meander pattern.

Valdani makes lovely variegated thread and they seem to have a lot of retailers in the UK. They do have one that is all primary colors. Here is a link to their UK retailers.

I would use a variegated thread, too.

Depending on just how stark the contrast is , you may not even see it once the quilt is washed. When the quilt puffs a little from washing , it often hides the thread better.

Why not use clear thread. that way it won't show...

A verigated thread works well on something like this.
