I took out a quilt kit that I had bought several years ago and read the pattern and looking at all the fabric I had in the container. Then I realized that 2 Moda Sanctuary jelly rolls and 6 packages of 5" charm squares, 25 in each package and they're not for the quilt. What can I do with the jelly rolls and charm squares. HELP!

Piece them together for the backing.

make up something. You are not "stuck" you have been liberated. Let's see what you have. This has become an adventure!!!

Yep, I'm with Pam, this is a major design opportunity.

You could layout the squares and play with the color design and use it for the back.

Whata nice surprise anyhow! I agree, maybe for the back?

There are a lot of books and patterns for jelly rolls and charm squares. They're also good for table runners if you don't have to many.

Make another quilt or two

Use them to make a quilt, together or with other fabrics you may have. Or use them for a backing.

Lay them out on your work table and wait for inspiration. Many times these situations can bring about really creative work. I often take fabric left from projects and make crazy patch blocks for another quilt and keep making them until all is used up.

WOW! I would feel like it was Christmas in May to find all that unspoken for fabric. I think I would add it to my stash until I was all caught up, then I would just spread it out and luxuriate in it for a while. Go to the library and get some books on that kind of projects, maybe try being creative.
What a wonderful opportunity!!

Thanks for the suggestions. You never have enough table runners. Backing is a very good idea too. I put them back in the container as I have a few UFO's to finish and then I'm sure I will have a plan for them.

This sounds to me like a gift from above....there is enough fabric there for a good size quilt top.....suppose you start with a charm square and then pair it with coordinating (or contrasting) jelly roll strip....cut the strip into segments that will border the square. Do this until you have used all of the jelly roll strips...you will still have a lot of charm squares left over so...when you start setting the blocks together insert a charm square in between each bordered block...of course if you decide to do something like this we will need to see the pictures.....have fun..... :)

A mistake is always an adventure in another direction.

From the jelly rolls, make four patches. From the charm squares, cut them the same size as four patch and equal number. Make yo-yo's to go in center of charm patch square and set 4 patch/square w/yo-yo/4 patch/square w/yo-yo, etc. I am making this now!

Check the moda bake shop... there are tons of free projects there for these little gems.
