Help with my Janome MB4

The first needle is locked on my MB4 - it's not under warranty any more and the one dealer here has dirty store and I haven't heard any good things about his repair - and my next option is 6 hours away. Has this happened to anyone and did you fix it your self?

Is the needle just stuck in the needle holder? I just wrap one of those rubber jar turner cloths around the little wheel and loosen mine. If the gears/motor is locked, it will probably have to go to the repairman but not the one you don't like.

Thanks - I have the original box and the packing. Talked to my dealer and we will ship it and he will do the repair and send it back. Easier than the trip - don't know why I didn't think of that sooner!
