Okay heres the scoop. My mother is doing an ohio star. She was working on it and for what ever reason put it away and now has decided to work on it again. She has a block that is made up of 4 triangles. Not all triangles are cut from the same block. Shes forgotten what size she has to cut her original block so that when she puts the new block together it finishes to a 6 inch block seams and all. Can any one help ? I know she would really appreciate it. Thanks.

What size are her are triangle blocks? Does she have a finished block to compare it to? If you divide the pattern into 9 patches, it makes the math easier to figure.

sorry no help here

It should be 7 and 1/8 cut into 4 triangles, I think.

For a finished 6" Ohio Star block, that is a nine patch (block) pattern, the squares before sewing into triangles and cutting in two triangles would start with a 2 1/2" block if I did the math right that is.
I hope this helps! DeeDee |
